One Natural Deodorant That Actually Works

One Natural Deodorant That Actually Works by Smile Is It ( 1

Every once in a while, I stumble upon online debates about the best deodorants and antiperspirants. Girls complain about harmful aluminum in conventional ones and non-effective natural and organic options. I’ve been an adept of natural deodorants for quite a few years. The brutally honest reality though is that the products I used did leave white marks on my clothes, felt kind of grainy, and barely saved me during hot NYC summer. Switching is always an option but for what?

Here comes my favorite part of being a blogger — I’m constantly exposed to new press releases and newsletters about new interesting products. So when I heard about natural deodorant called Myro, I knew I have to try it.

Antiperspirants and Deodorants

While working on this post, I learned that anything that has the word antiperspirant on it is made with aluminum. According to Women’s Health magazine, aluminum is the only ingredient approved by FDA that stops sweating. Unfortunately, aluminum is also associated with both breast cancer and Alzheimer’s, but there is not enough evidence at the moment to ban products containing aluminum from store shelves. Deodorants, on the other hand, do not stop sweating but can mask your body odor.

I don’t want to take chances so antiperspirants are definitely not something I see myself using in any near future. At the same time, when I opt for natural products, I want them to feel, look and smell pleasant. Using natural products shouldn’t feel like an unbearable sacrifice.

So I was looking for that one perfect natural deodorant that won’t feel like you are applying Elmer’s glue to your underarms, and I found one! My Myro glides and feels amazing. The application feels very gentle, similar to the application of a gel product which Myro is actually not. It takes a couple of seconds for the product to dry up and keep my underarms comfortable for the day.

If you are curious about the scent I picked, it’s Pillow Talk. Love it! This is kind of bold but subtle earthy scent which is perfect for mornings. According to the brand, the deodorant releases 100% natural scent over time, not all at once.

Myro is a customizable deodorant where you can pick your own case color and switch between scents every month. I really like that the fully recyclable pods use about 50% less plastic than the regular ones.

I was using something else before, and it kind of worked but I was not crazy about the grainy feel and white residue on my clothes. Myro doesn’t have that. It slightly reminds me of those crystal natural deodorants with the difference that it feels super smooth.

Myro is made in the USA and doesn’t contain any aluminum or parabens. There is no baking soda in there either which reduces the chances of sensitivity issues.

One more thing I should mention is that if you are switching from antiperspirant, you might notice a little more sweat.  Depending on your own personal biome, it could take up to four weeks for your body to adjust. Until then, just apply Myro twice a day.

Do you use natural deodorants or regular antiperspirants?

    Great post! x

  2. I switched to natural as well. I sweat when I work out but that’s normal and happens anyway even with antiperspirants. Looks like a great one to try!

  3. I’m in love with my crystal salt deodorant, but I love trying new things! I’ll have to check this out. I love the idea of the case and being able to switch scents!
